When the young reporter is assigned to do a story on prostitution, he aims high, going after the top end girls at a brothel known for its expensive girls and high class clientele. From the start, we get to see hard-core sex like never before. The scene, between a pair of beautiful brunettes and several clients, looks like a Penthouse softcore vid, but with all the close ups and hard cocks you expect from regular porn. While I can appreciate the style and beauty of a scene like this, the novelty wears thin very quickly from a raincoater point of view. There is too much quick cut, MTV action for my taste and that's a shame because both women are very pretty and had the action been shot like a normal Private movie, it undoubtedly would have rocked. In the end, in spite the two gorgeous, DP'd Euro babes, there is too much slow motion and rapid cutting for me to consider it strokeable porn.

One of the clients is so high profile, he has to meet the girls on the sly, fucking the girls in the back of his limo. Thanks to some well placed cameras, we get to watch one of these liaisons. Again, the action is fast paced, which makes for a nice looking set up, however when the sex begins, the heat is drained because it looks like it was edited by a kid with ADD and a nervous tic. The black and white cut ins don't help much either. At least the cumshot is at full speed this time. Before you think that I just hate everything about this movie, know this. I appreciate the great looking woman in this scene and I know how much effort it takes to shoot a scene like this. I just wish they had left the sex alone. After all, no one does it better than Private to begin with.

Getting the story is difficult for the reporter, so he tries to get close with one of the call girls. (Sylvia Saint.) He gets her to open up a little in their interview. It's always nice to look at Sylvia, but the dialog drags on a little and is sometimes overpowered by the background music. When it finally leads us to a sex scene, Sylvia is decked out in this super hot leather get up and has a gorgeous woman stroking her breasts. After a short show, the brunette moves over to the John and starts undressing him while Sylvia keeps warming up her pussy. The sensuality of this scene is off the chart, but the slow motion sex does me in again. Even with and awesome Sylvia taking a nice hard drilling, I can't help but think this scene would have been hotter if it were just shot straight. Apparently, the call girl business is very good, because Sylvia's pad is nothing short of breathtaking. Then again, neither is she, so it all fits. His attraction to the beautiful prostitute is becoming a problem as jealousy begins to creep into his thoughts. The good news for us, is another hot solo/tease scene. Sylvia is a perfect tease and these are the best scenes in the movie. To add to his report, he asks Sylvia to let him watch one of her appointments. It seems a lot like poking the tip of your tongue at a sore tooth, but he hides while she entertains a client. It's hard for him to deal with seeing her with another man, but he can't stop filming. You already know the problems I have with the style of this movie, so I won't go over it again. The guy has a big cock and Sylvia uses her tongue to lick up and down the shaft like it's an ice cream cone. No matter what this guy paid, I'd say he's getting a bargain. With the story finished, Sylvia vanishes, leaving the reporter confused, angry and right back where he started. Instead of ending there, we go to a big orgy scene. All of the prostitutes are welcoming a new girl into their circle. She wears a mask, but you should be able to figure out who it is. Hell, she was so hot earlier, it's nice to see this babe back for an encore. The new girl is initiated into the circle of working girls in a blaze of sexual glory. The best action here stars the mystery blonde who takes a nice DP and throws away her mask in time to get doused in a double dose of dick dressing.

I've been over the shortcomings of this movie a dozen times already, so why not cover the good points in the close. Call Girl has a great looking cast of women, and every one of them is dynamic in their sex scenes. The picture and sound quality are a step up even from Private's already high standards. During the non sex scenes, all of this adds up to a great adult feature film, however, we can't overlook the fact that it is supposed to be a porn vid. Once the sex starts, the very things I like so much about this movie just get in the way. Too much slow motion, too many black and white cut aways and too much style smother much of the sexual heat and ruin any raincoater appeal this movie may have had. On the other hand, it has more couples appeal than I would have thought

Still, the superior technical aspects and the always incredible Sylvia Saint provide enough reason for me to still like this movie somewhat.
